Summer “Fun” Bowling Cancelled on Saturday 15th September
The problem with the lane dressing machine will not be fixed until Saturday (when a new part arrives).
As this could be at anytime on Saturday and the lanes have not been dressed for a week, bowling is cancelled for this week as nothing would be achieved bowling on undressed lanes.
Whilst this page will be updated about any future news about Tolworth YBC Bowling, for anyone who lets me know an email address directly, I will contact them via that address. Please email me at email@example.com and include your name, email address and a contact phone number. Your contact details will only be used to advise on YBC “late” information about bowling matters at Tolworth.
Tolworth YBC covers bowlers from about 4 years old through to 21 years old. The youngest bowlers are in a group known as “PeeWees” whilst older bowlers are covered by various names to create 2 year age bands. More can be found about the older bowlers in the section “Young Ones”.
We are privileged to be able to reprint a series of articles about the mental game in tenpin bowling first published a number of years ago in the Go Tenpin magazine. They were written by one of our instructors – John Hobbs – and become collectors items at the time. To see the first article, click here. PDF versions of the articles as they are added can be downloaded from the Instructors page
Everyone seems to have had a great day at the PEEKY MEMORIAL tournament. It seemed that nearly everyone had a special memory of Andrew and it was great to see them shared. It was also nice to see that this event had encouraged some who had stopped bowling to thoroughly enjoy themselves on the day and come back to regular bowling. The real bonus is with everyone’s help, we have raised £1764 for Help For Heroes this year.
Thanks to everyone who helped to make this event so special – all those involved in organising it, the bowl staff who excelled and everyone who made the effort to take part; you all made it an event to remember and set a new standard for others to follow.
Following the success of this site when dedicated to just PeeWees, it is being expanded to cover all aspects of the YBC. Many of the sections (such as Tournament Details, Ron Brockless, Andrew Peek and YBC photographs) apply equally to all sections – which drove the decision to expand the site).

Bowlrite is your local (and one of the largest) tenpin bowling pro shops for all your equipment needs. They have been a long time supporter of the YBC and provide all our trophies. It is only when you are in the shop at the entrance to the bowl, that you appreciate other bowlers are travelling from great distances to visit the shop.
