TOUGH MUDDER with PEEKY’S RUNNERS
A group of Andrew’s friends elected to do Tough Mudder in his name. A couple of weeks earlier they had been at the bowl as part of the trainning for this 14 mile assult course run in aid of Help For Heroes.
We got to Alresford early (we thought) and already there were runners who had completed the course whilst others were starting. However we had a mile long hike from the car to the main area whilst the runners ran back past us.
Once we were on site, it was time to meet the others and get ready.
Stanford was there to wish everyone good luck.
We meet all the runners and supporters in the big tent.
Then it was time to go for our allocated start time with a warmup first.
A brief run to the actual start where there was a final briefing about safety.
Time to cool off for the first time. Those trailers are full of ice to fill up the skips.
Having got through this there was a loop through other hazards only to return to the mud bath again.
Then there was another hike to the next washing.
After that it was time to try hit the bell … and another wash.
The finish was real shocker.
Once finished it was a question of peeling off the mud…….. and getting warm.
A gret big thank you to all who took part and raised more money for Help For Heroes.
If you want to show your support, links to some of the runners can be found via the Andrew Memory page
